AvL manufactures carbon fiber and engineered composite reflectors of several types, including single piece and segmented multi-piece, that range in size from 60cm to 4.6m. Our reflectors are high-precision, rugged and stiff for superior performance.
AvL uses the same carbon fiber used on Boeing 787 jets, so it's inherently rugged, strong and lightweight, but can be expensive. AvL high-end SNG/Mil antennas and Military FlyAway antennas include carbon fiber reflectors for added ruggedness, accuracy and longevity. Our carbon fiber reflectors are certifiable for Military Ka applications
AvL also manufactures engineered composite reflectors that are heavier than carbon fiber but considerably less expensive.
Each and every reflector produced and delivered by AvL is measured with respect to surface accuracy using ultra-precise laser measurement technology. This capability allows us to deliver antennas that must meet the most stringent performance expectations, including Ka-band and higher frequency spectra.
All feeds on AvL antennas are AvL proprietary feed horn and OMT designs, and they're made of billet machined aluminum to AvL specifications. We use aircraft grade aluminum in all feeds to ensure they're the best quality on the market.
AvL offers 2-, 3- and 4-port feeds, for linear- or circular-polarizations, at frequency bands ranging from S- to Ka- and higher frequency bands.
