AvL’s 4.6m high-gain, multi-band and multi-orbit flyaway antenna originally was designed to meet custom specifications and numerous application-specific iterations have been designed since. AvL selected the core design with key application-specific features as a standardized antenna, which is now available. The standard configuration antenna packs into 24 cases (excluding feeds) for shipping via commercial air freight and all cases meet 2-man lift requirements. The antenna can be assembled by a four-person team in less than three hours and operates in standard C-band or optional Ku-, Ka-, X-, S- or S/L-band, or C-band troposcatter. The antenna is motorized with auto-acquisition and can operate in 30 mph (48 kph) winds with gusts to 65 mph (105 kph).

Designed for large‑aperture, multi‑orbit operations requiring assured tracking and high link stability, AvL’s 4.6m FlyAway Multi‑Orbit Tracking Antenna delivers dependable SATCOM capability for ruggedized and militarized terminal deployments. This system supports automated acquisition and continuous tracking across multiple satellite architectures, enabling reliable connectivity for high‑capacity and mission‑critical networks. Its portable, segmented design allows transport and field deployment while maintaining the structural performance required for precision tracking and polarization control. Supporting a wide range of frequency bands and mission profiles, the 4.6 m FlyAway integrates into advanced terminal architectures where performance, reliability, and operational flexibility are essential.
AAQ Controller
AvL’s AAQ Antenna Controller is a flexible, cost‑effective embedded control system designed for transportable satellite antennas operating in harsh environments. Its compact pedestal‑mounted architecture streamlines cabling and supports a broad range of antenna types while enabling fully automatic acquisition—including one‑button deploy/acquire and automated azimuth, elevation, and cross‑polarization peaking. Integrated GPS, electronic compass, and attitude sensors with auto‑compensation ensure accurate pointing, and a built‑in receiver provides precise peaking on satellite beacons or live data carriers. Customer‑configurable target profiles, OpenAMIP support, and both Web‑based and .NET GUI control interfaces give users a flexible, modern operating environment tailored for rapid and reliable operation.
